Altered RNA Splicing by Mutant p53 Activates Oncogenic RAS Signaling in Pancreatic Cancer

Here we identify sequence-specific changes in RNA splicing downstream of hotspot missense mutations in p53 and a mechanism of cooperation between mutant p53 and oncogenic KRAS. Mutant p53 promotes isoforms of GTPase Activating Proteins (GAPs) via the RNA binding protein hnRNPK in a manner that supports maximal activation of RAS.
