MAX Functions as a Tumor Suppressor and Rewires Metabolism in Small Cell Lung Cancer

Augert et al. identify MAX as a context-dependent tumor suppressor in small cell lung cancer (SCLC) that can regulate serine and one-carbon metabolism. MAX loss accelerates SCLC progression in a Rb1/Trp53-deficient mouse model, while abrogating tumorigenesis in MYCL-overexpressing SCLC.
